About Me

Welcome to Functional Origins, where holistic well-being is at the forefront.

I’m Audrey Fleck, a dedicated dietitian with over a decade of experience, and the founder of Functional Origins, my private practice located in Bucks County, PA. With a strong educational background, including a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics and an MS in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine, I specialize in providing an integrative and functional approach to healing, primarily tailored for women.

My passion lies in helping women embark on a journey to improved health, whether it’s addressing digestive concerns, managing autoimmune conditions, tackling anxiety, or attaining hormonal balance. I’m deeply committed to transforming perspectives around food, moving away from restrictive diets and rules, and embracing the concepts of nourishment, enjoyment, and overall well-being. Through education, I empower my clients with not just the ‘what’ but also the ‘why’ behind their health choices, inspiring them to establish lasting, positive habits.

My career path in nutrition was initially shaped by my experience working in traditional nutrition counseling, both in long-term nursing care and outpatient settings. During this time, it became evident that nutrition was often overlooked within the healthcare system. This realization motivated me to establish my private practice, with a specific focus on addressing the distinctive needs of women who might feel neglected by conventional medicine.

I look forward to partnering with you on your healing journey towards enhanced health and well-being.

“Like the rising sun, may you nourish yourself with self-love, feeding your spirit, and nurturing your body, for every woman deserves to bloom with grace.”

My Story

Throughout my life, I’ve been navigating my own health challenges, including a history of IBS symptoms, inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis, and the rollercoaster of mood issues intertwined with my menstrual cycle—starting as early as my teenage years, when I had no idea it wasn’t the norm. These experiences have profoundly connected me with the challenges that women on similar journeys endure, fostering a deep understanding of their struggles. Additionally, having experienced birth trauma and the overwhelming pressures of motherhood, I can empathize with moms who find themselves stressed and striving to be supermoms. I’ve walked the same path, facing my struggles head-on. I don’t advocate for diet perfection; instead, I believe in realistic, sustainable approaches. I share genuine, real-life guidance from my own experiences, aiming to empower others by showing them that perfection isn’t the answer—it’s about finding balance and nourishment for both the body and the soul.
